Managing Director
Joris J Bakker, Founder
Joris is founder and Managing Director of the company. After studying Maritime Management in Rotterdam Joris started his career in shipping in 1993 with Seatrade Reefer Chartering in Antwerp. Having worked with Seatrade for 7 years as Vessel Operator, Line Manager and Trade Manager end responsible for Seatrade's activities in Brasil and Suriname Joris left Seatrade in the year 2000 to become one of the founding partners of GoReefers Group of companies and in 2001 started West Africa Logistics, a company active in liner service to West Africa which later was renamed to Breadbox Shipping Lines.
Line Management
Sophie Teuwen, Line Manager Timber & Logs Liner service and MD of Breadbox rep office in Dakar
Sophie Teuwen joined Breadbox in 2002 and has been an active part in the development of the company since. Being native French speaking and born in Congo, Sophie started focussing more and more on Breadbox key clients in West Africa. In 2005 Breadbox decided to open a representative office in Dakar and Sophie accepted the position of regional manager responsible for all all our local clients and relations. In 2006 Sophie initiated and developed the "West Africa Coastal Liner service" which till today is one of the key activities of the company.
Barry Lupker, Line manager Reefer and RoRo Liner services
Barry has 21 years of experience in the shipping industry starting off as a deck officer on coastal vessel thereafter active in agency, stevedoring and dry cargo chartering running a liner service between Latvia and Flushing. In July 2004 Barry joined Breadbox and has been active as line manager of our NWC-WAF liner service since. Early 2007 Breadbox initiated the Monrovia service which is presently managed by Barry as well.
Vessel Operations
Armindo Rodrigues, Vessel Operations Liner Services
Armindo joined Breadbox in December 2003 and is responsible for the companies "Vessel and Port Operations" of the various liner services. Armindo is in regular contact with the Captains, agents & stevedores regarding the stowage, lashing & securing and to ensure a smooth loading and discharge operation in the ports. Armindo, with 20 years of experience in shipping, started his career the "traditional way" as boarding clerc learning the job in the port. Thereafter Armindo performed several years as post fixture operator and at a later active in dry cargo chartering of 1.500 up to 4.500 DWT vessels.
Oscar Petit, Operations Manager (West Africa)
Oscar worked for Breadbox several years in the operations department after which Oscar decided to move to the States to work in the finance industry. Recently Oscar rejoined the Breadbox team in January 2009 as Operations Manager (West Africa) supervising vessels operations along the coast and assisting our commercial and business development activities with his operation skills and knowledge. Oscar's background as a deck officer on general cargo ships as well as the years working as an operator at Breadbox in the past are a vital contribution to the team. Oscar is based in our rep office in Dakar.
Finance & Administration
Edwin Vermaas, Finance Manager
Edwin Vermaas as Financial Manager of Breadbox Shipping Lines is guarding the companies funds carefully as well as looking after the Group's financial interest. Edwin has more then 8 years of experience in the field of finance and administration working for a rail operator as well as a tanker company prior joining Breadbox as finance manager in 2006.
Amer Butt, Disbursements & administration
Amer works for Breadbox since 2005. Looking after port disbursements and general administration Amer is handling and checking the flow of disbursement accounts and has knowledge about all the port tariff of the West Africa ports. Amer is adding 6 years of experience in the field of administration to Breadbox finance department.
Ethlyne Clemensia, Documentation & secretarial
Ethlyne joined Breadbox in 2002 and has been active in various activities of the company. Initially Ethlyne started at the finance department, later became active for the documentation department en presently Ethlyne has a multi-task responsibility taking care of documentation and office management.
